​The Organic Analysis Section consists of 12 scientists, with a collective core expertise in:

  • Chromatography (GC, GCxGC, HPLC, UPLC, GPC, SFC),

  • Mass spectrometry (MSD, TOF-MS, MS/MS),

  • Spectroscopy (FTIR, UV, 1H-NMR, QNMR),

  • Titrimetry (Potentiometric, Photometric, KF Volumetric and KF Coulometric),

  • Thermal Analytical techniques (DSC, TGA, Sorption Vapour Balance),

  • Elemental analysis (Total Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Carbon, Sulphur and Oxygen),

  • Advanced Sample preparation techniques (PLE, MAE, SPME, SPE, d-SPE and LLE),

  • Accurate quantification (d-IDMS),

  • Implementation and maintenance of quality systems.

This section typically assists laboratories requiring assistance with on-site set up and validation of sample preparation and quantitative analytical methods, providing hands-on training and customised proficiency test materials for their unique applications. These are services needed by the laboratories to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation or expand on their existing scope
