Research & Development of the National Measurement Standards
Research and development of the National Measurement Standards is essential to the mandate of NMISA, and ensures that South Africa’s metrology standards are up to date with the latest developments internationally. Project progress to completion is typically monitored by three to four independent representatives from industry and academia, in addition to the metrology area managers. The review team is led by the NMISA Research Manager.
Approximately 17% of funding was allocated to dedicated research projects in 2006/7 (April 2006 to March 2007) funded a total of eleven projects. A report of activities is available in pdf format.
